24-25 February, 2021
Join us virtually in February! Neurological Emergencies is a 2-day, 13-hour course that provides updates, best practices, and new algorithms to diagnose neurological symptoms, quickly identify a neurological emergency, and take appropriate measures to optimize outcomes for high-risk patients. The goal of this course is to prepare clinicians to quickly and accurately diagnose and provide appropriate care for patients with neurological emergencies, including:
High-frequency symptoms: Headache, back pain, dizziness, diplopia
High-risk conditions: Acute ischemic stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, coma, intracerebral hemorrhage
The course is delivered by the Departments of Emergency Medicine at
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center & Mass General Hospital, two Harvard Medical School teaching hospitals.
Articulate how to perform bedside diagnostic and therapeutic maneuvers in the dizzy patient
Use focused history and physical to determine which patients with headache or minor head injury require neuroimaging or further workup
Use clinical “red flags” to avoid misdiagnosis of cord and cauda equina compression in patients with back pain
Discuss how to rapidly evaluate patients with stroke symptoms for intravenous and intraarterial revascularization therapy.

The deadline for the submission is Noon, November 24 (Tue.) (Japan Standard Time).
*Making Powerpoint video presentations will be required for overseas presenters who are unable to attend the 62nd JSN annual meeting due to COVID-19 pandemic.
We offer TRAVEL GRANTS to encourage neurologists in other countries who submit abstracts. We look forward to the active participation from overseas in this meeting.
For details on the meeting, please refer to the 2nd Announcement of this meeting attached.
We will invite more than 30 famous neurologists and neuroscientists from overseas. The meeting has many English programs. About 40% of the presentation will be conducted in English.
It would be highly appreciated if you could distribute this information to your members and encourage their participation in the meeting.

Dear Colleagues and Friends,
As the number of lives affected by the COVID-19 pandemic has now reached the millions, the health and safety of our congress attendees, our patients and our families, remains our primary concern.
While we may come from different nations, we are all experiencing difficult and trying times, and we must continue to work together to slow the spread of the disease.
With this situation in mind, the European Academy of Neurology has decided to go virtual again for the 7th EAN Congress on June 19-22, 2021, originally to be held in Vienna.
Once again, we look forward to offering you the opportunity to learn from experts in your field, grow your professional network, and discover the latest best practices in neurology, all in the comfort of your home. Building on our experience from the EAN Virtual Congress 2020, we will utilise the very best technical solutions to provide you with a virtual experience as comfortable and rewarding as the real thing.
In order to make participation affordable for colleagues all over the world, EAN is offering reduced fees for the virtual congress.
Please find detailed information on the EAN Congress Website.
We look forward to welcoming you to the 7th EAN Congress/2nd EAN Virtual Congress!
On behalf of the entire EAN Board, we wish you, your families, and your community the best of health.
